By Michelle Mowad and City News Service:

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday released a photo of a man wanted in connection with the theft of seven brass grave markers from veterans' headstones at an area cemetery.

Three unknown suspects entered the Alpine Cemetery between April 4-5, 2013 and stole the brass plaques that marked the graves of military veterans, according to law enforcement.

Investigators had little to go on in the year-old thefts until last month, when a camera memory card found in a repossessed car turned out to contain video images of two men and a woman committing the crime, sheriff's Detective Richard Bolter said.

While investigators were able to identify and arrest two of the three suspects, one suspect remains at large-- the man pictured above.

Anyone with information on this man's whereabouts or these thefts should call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous emails and text messages can be sent through sdcrimestoppers.org.

The total loss associated with the theft is $3,500. None of the stolen markers has  been recovered, according to Bolter.
