For $100 residents could have someone they know arrested and put on trial by the Beaumont Police Department.
Beaumont Police made faux arrests on Wednesday, reading unsuspecting residents their rights and putting them through mock trials.
For $100 people could have an arrest warrant issued for a friend, loved one or co-worker. Beaumont Police officers brought the bad apples to the Civic Center, where they faced charges that ranged from possession of a big mouth to excessive vacationing.
Police Chief Frank Coe hopes that after word gets out about the light hearted event, participation increases from year to year.

Although everyone was eventually found guilty, arrestees were eventually let go on bail or for time served.
