Vandals Cause $12,500 in Damages to Beaumont High School

Was it a senior prank that went too far?

Those who arrived at Beaumont High School early Thursday morning noticed something was not right.  Dozens of trees across campus had been cut down, and scattered around the property.

Patch is told that the trees had been planted about eight years ago.

Now, police say whoever is responsible for the incident may be facing felony vandalism charges.

Beaumont Police Chief Frank Coe tells Patch that 25 trees were chopped down, and that because they're valued at approximately $500 each, the incident is categorized as a felony.

With $12,500 in damages, police are taking this case possible prank seriously, and anyone that knows who may be responsible is asked to contact BPD at 951-769-8500.
