U.S. Marshals, Riverside County D.A. Tight-Lipped as They Serve Warrant in Beaumont

Details surrounding the investigation are very limited at this time, but the U.S. Marshals Service tells Banning-Beaumont Patch more will come out in the next month.

Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Riverside County District Attorney's office this week swarmed a Beaumont neighborhood to serve a warrant on a local resident, officials confirm to Banning-Beaumont Patch.

It all happened around 7 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 800 block of Cougar Ranch Road.  Neighbors tell Patch they saw several detectives in the area while the operation was happening.  Beaumont police confirm that they also assisted.

Details surrounding the investigation are very limited at this time, though.  Patch has tried to find out the nature of the warrant that was served, but the U.S. Marshals Service says nothing can be disclosed since it's part of a broader "ongoing investigation."

A public information officer with the U.S. Marshals Service— which is the lead investigating agency— said information in the case will come out "in about a month," adding that anything more disclosed now may compromise their investigation.

"...we assisted another law enforcement agency in an investigation this morning,"  Riverside County District Attorney Spokesman John Hall told Patch in an email Thursday.  "No further comment at this time."

Banning-Beaumont Patch will continue to follow up with authorities to track this developing story.
