UPDATE: Woman Hospitalized in Two Vehicle Crash on WB 10 in Beaumont

The crash occurred when it was raining Wedneday afternoon and it was not a hit-and-run as initially reported by the CHP, a spokesman for San Gorgonio California Highway Patrol said.

A 63-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman was hospitalized Wednesday with injuries from a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 10 west of Veile Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred when it was raining and it was not a hit-and-run as by the CHP, a spokesman for the San Gorgonio Pass CHP said Thursday.

Kitty Pallesen, 63, of Desert Hot Springs, was driving a green Mercury Villager and Jay Dang, 28, of La Quinta, was driving a white Toyota Rav4 when the crash occurred at 1:55 p.m. on the 10 in Beaumont, Darren Meyer of the Pass CHP said.

Pallesen was taken to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital with facial lacerations, Meyer said.

There were no passengers in either vehicle. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed, Meyer said.
