UPDATE: Marijuana Seizure in Beaumont Valued at $1.2 Million

The DEA said Wednesday that a recent marijuana seizure from a warehouse in Beaumont was worth at least $1.2 million.

A marijuana growing operation shut down by federal Drug Enforcement Administration officials was worth at least $1.2 million, officials told Banning-Beaumont Patch on Wednesday.

Other new details are coming to light in the investigation, like the fact that no arrests have been made, as the DEA is still gathering evidence and building their case, DEA spokeswoman Sarah Pullen tells Patch.

Any arrest(s) could still be several weeks away, she added.

The seizure operation was carried out on Nov. 14, at a warehouse on Maple Ave. and 3rd Street in Beaumont, by federal agents, local DEA task force representatives, Beaumont Police and Riverside County Sheriff's deputies, Pullen said.

More than 600 plants were found inside.  Pullen said that the $1.2 million estimated value is a "conservative" estimate since each plant normally yields one pound of marijuana, and $2,000 per pound is a lowball figure.
