UPDATE: Banning Man Identified in Murder

The Riverside County Coroner's Office identified the man shot and killed Wednesday night as a local resident.

26-year-old Lawrence Wilson has been identified as the man who collapsed and died from gunshot wounds Wednesday night after running into a local eatery for help, police and coroner's reports indicate.

The Riverside County Coroner's Office released the information Thursday evening.

Wilson was shot "multiple times," near North Phillips, in Banning, Police Chief Leonard Purvis told Banning-Beaumont Patch.
