A 35-year-old man has been booked for the murder of his younger sister, authorities said Saturday.

Michael Horton was arrested for the murder of Jennifer Horton, 34, whose body was found inside a residence on the 14200 block of Broadway, in Cabazon around 5:50 p.m. on Jan. 27, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Lt. Jeff Buompensiero said.

Buompensiero said Horton— who authorities had identified as a person of interest in the case— was found around 12:30 p.m. Friday in Banning.  Once he was questioned, he was arrested.

"After further investigation by Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit, Horton was arrested for the murder of Jennifer Horton," Buompensiero said.

Jail records indicate the man was taken to the Banning jail, where he was being held on $1 million bail.
