A break-in occurred at a home in the 9000 block of Byham Lane in Cherry Valley while the resident was on vacation, a sheriff's sergeant said. The suspects were arrested Tuesday.

Two men were behind bars Thursday in Banning on suspicion of burglarizing a Cherry Valley home between April 9 and April 15, sheriff's officials said.

The burglary was reported about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 9000 block of Byham Lane in Cherry Valley, Sgt. Al Meservey of the sheriff's Cabazon Station said.

Further investigation led to a room at a motel in Calimesa, where the second suspect was located. A search of the room resulted in recovery of $2,650 in stolen currency taken in the burglary, along with illegal drug paraphernalia, Meservey said.

Jeffrey Stevens, 29, of Redlands, and Emmet Bicondova, 42, of Yucaipa, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, conspiracy, and drug related charges, Meservey said.

Stevens and Bicondova were held Thursday on bail of $75,000 each at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, according to inmate records.
