Two Injured as Fire Damages Garage at Home in South Beaumont Subdivision

The fire was reported at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Underhill Court, in the Seneca Springs subdivision, according to Cal Fire. One firefighter and one civilian were transported with minor injuries, according to Cal Fire.

A fire damaged the garage of a two-story home Wednesday in the Seneca Springs subdivision in south Beaumont, and two people sustained minor injuries, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported at 9:25 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1400 block of Underhill Court, south of Potrero Boulevard and east of Manzanita Park Road, according to Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire-Riverside County.

Eight engine crews with a total of 30 firefighters responded and the first on scene found "a two-story, single family home well involved with heavy fire and smoke showing," Hagemann said in a statement.

Fire crews declared the fire contained at 9:48 a.m., Hagemann said.

"One Firefighter and one civilian were transported with minor injuries," Hagemann said.

Firefighters were expected to remain on scene about two hours, Hagemann said.

Agencies that responded included Cal Fire-Riverside County, San Bernardino County Fire, American Medical Response, Southern California Edison, and the Southern California Gas Company, Hagemann said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
