Two Hospitalized in Crash Outside Badlands

Two people were taken to the hospital Monday evening after their car went off the side of the freeway just outside the Badlands area of the 60 freeway, according to reports.

Two people were hurt-- one of them critically-- when their car went an estimated 30 feet off the side of the freeway, fire officials reported Monday.

According to Riverside County Fire Department Spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, the car crashed on State Route 60, at Theodore Street in Moreno Valley, at around 6 p.m.

"CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle 30 feet over the side," she said.

There were two people inside the vehicle when it went over the side of the road for unknown reasons, and firefighters helped get them out to safety.

One person was hospitalized with injuries described as major, while the other person's injuries were described as minor, according to Hendrickson.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
