UPDATE: Cal Fire Says Blaze on Morongo Reservation is Contained
Firefighters from the reservation teamed with Cal Fire-Riverside County and U.S. Forest Service personnel. More than 60 firefighters responded, as well as a helicopter crew and a bulldozer crew, according to Cal Fire.

Fire destroyed one structure, damaged power poles, and scorched an estimated two acres today on the Morongo Indian Reservation, a Cal Fire-Riverside County spokeswoman said.
The fire was declared contained at 3:27 p.m., according to Cal Fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was being investigated.

Posted 2:54 p.m. A trailer and some brush caught fire Friday afternoon on the Morongo Indian Reservation, a Cal Fire-Riverside County spokeswoman said.
The fire was reported at 2:27 p.m. at 47260 Verdugo Road, Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire said.

The first engine company on scene reported a trailer with about a quarter-acre of vegetation burning, Hagemann said.
