Toddler Nearly Drowns in Hemet, Saved by CPR

A 2-year-old boy nearly drowned in Hemet this weekend, but was saved with CPR.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 1:15 p.m. from the 41000 block of Felton Court. It was not clear if the child had been in a pool or some other standing water.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation had been performed on the toddler by the time firefighters arrived, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he showed stable life signs, with moderate injuries, Hendrickson said.
