Three Bodies Found Inside Palm Springs Home in Apparent Murder, Suicide

Police responded to a house after getting reports of shots fired, and say they found two adults and a juvenile shot to death.

Police Friday were investigating the discovery of three bodies– one of them a juvenile– inside a Palm Springs home in what may be a double-murder and suicide.

The bodies were found Thursday night inside a home in the 1200 block of Sunflower East Lane, after police got a call of multiple shots fired, according to a Palm Springs Police Department media release.

"When officers arrived, they found the security door to one of the condominiums closed, but the front door open," the release said.  "When they looked in, they found three people inside with what appeared to be gunshot wounds."

Police went in to check on the three, and look for any possible suspects.  PSPD says officers determined the adult male, adult female and juvenile female were dead.

No one else was located inside, police said.

"At this point in the investigation, detectives have reason to believe this was a murder / suicide, and that there are likely no outstanding suspects at this time," the release said.

Mydesert.com reported that neighbors heard gunshots in the house on Wednesday night, and again at 8:53 p.m. Thursday.

Shouts of "Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha!" could be heard after the shots rang out, a witness told the newspaper.

Another witness said a woman and her daughter lived at the home, and the woman's boyfriend had recently moved in.

Forensics teams were at the house most of the night, leaving at 7:30 a.m., according to mydesert.com.
