Suspect Shoots Store Owner During Attempted Hold-up
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. Thursday at a mobile phone service outlet in the 1200 block of South San Jacinto Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
A masked gunman who shot a store owner during a botched robbery in San Jacinto remained at large today.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. Thursday at a mobile phone service outlet in the 1200 block of South San Jacinto Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The bandit rushed into the business, demanding money and threatening an employee.
The owner of the store emerged from his office and headed to the front of the outlet, at which point the suspect shot him, inflicting what was described as a non-life-threatening wound. The suspect then fled from the business without any cash or property, according to the sheriff's department.

The man was described as black, about 5-foot-6, with a medium build and wearing dark clothing.
