UPDATE: Hours-Long Sheriff's Standoff Ends in Cherry Valley

Monday update:  CLICK HERE for more information on arrests made, and the alleged "sophisticated bomb making materials and instructions" which were found inside the Cherry Valley home, according to sheriff's officials. 

Update 4:55 p.m.:  
A sheriff's SWAT team and other investigators have cleared the Cherry Valley neighborhood they were stationed in much of Sunday after serving a search warrant at a local home, sheriff's officials tell Patch.

Deputy Steven Favero says the units are now cleared, but could not immediately provide more details on what happened.  A sheriff's statement from the Cabazon station with more details is expected this evening.

Update 3:06 p.m. 
A stand-off in Cherry Valley continued Sunday afternoon on Nancy Avenue, where deputies were serving a warrant, a Riverside County Sheriff's Department spokesman said just after 3 p.m. Oct. 6.

"They're serving a warrant in the 10-000 block of Nancy," Deputy Steven Favero  said in a phone interview. "That's why you're seeing all those resources out there."

Update 12:26 p.m. 
A spokesman for the Sheriff's Department said he is waiting for information from supervisors at the stand-off scene in Cherry Valley, which was still ongoing as of 12:23 p.m.

Update 11:46 a.m.
A pickup hauling a sheriff's "Hazardous Device Team" trailer has just arrived.

Update 11:36 a.m. 
The search is now focused in the neighborhood of Nancy Avenue just south of Orchard in Cherry Valley.

There's a sheriff's armored vehicle and amplified commands are audible on Nancy about 100 yards from the home that appears to be the target of the investigation.

A Sheriff's Department helicopter is circling overhead. Nancy Avenue is closed and a stretch of Orchard has been closed between Nancy and Taylor.

 A search for a wanted person resulted in a large amount of police activity in Beaumont Sunday morning, along with some closures of major roadways in town.

The Riverside County Sheriff's department is the lead agency in the search, which began around 10 am, and information wasn't immediately available as to what the person is wanted for.

Oak Valley parkway has been closed between Noble Creek Park and Golf Course Drive. The sheriffs helicopter can be seen searching overhead.
