"The strongest winds will mainly be below canyons and passes late Thursday into early Friday across the San Bernardino and Riverside mountains . . . the Inland Empire . . . and the Santa Ana mountains and foothills."

Winds are expected to gradually decrease Friday afternoon, according to the Weather Service.

"Isolated gusts greater than 70 mph are possible below the Cajon and Banning passes in the Inland Empire as well as the Fremont and Modjeska canyons in the Santa Ana Mountains."

The winds could make driving difficult, especially for anyone in high-profile campers or big rigs on interstates 10, 15 and 215, as well as the 91, 60 and 210 freeways.

The Weather Service also warned that broken tree limbs and downed power lines are possible in some areas during the wind event.
