Five suspects were booked into the Smith Correctional Facility after the car they had parked in the parking structure at Casino Morongo was found to have been reported stolen.
A Riverside County Sheriff's deputy was doing a routine property check when his car's Automated Licence Plate Reader (A.L.P.R.) alerted him to the vehicle, located on the 5th floor of the parking structure. A dispatcher confirmed the car was stolen out of San Jacinto on July 14.
Five suspects wee arrested with the assistance of tribal security: Wayne Sleme, 38, of Idyllwild, for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; Heather Dunnington, 20, of Hemet for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; Michael Mitchell, 29, of San Diego, for being under the influence of a controlled substance; Lacey Mitchell, 19, oand Katlynn Nelson, 19, both of Hemet, for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
The A.L.P.R. units were purchased using a grant from the Morongo Band of Mission Indians.
