Sheriff's Search for Attempted Robbery Suspect
The man allegedly fired off a single round during an attempted robbery of a Wal-Mart in San Jacinto. Early reports of the attempted robbery said the fleeing vehicle was a Nissan Frontier pickup truck
Riverside County Sheriff's authorities were searching for an armed man who allegedly entered the automotive department of a Wal-Mart store on Monday and fired a single round during a robbery attempt, officials said in a written statement.
No one was hurt during the 10:35 a.m. incident when the suspect threw a bag on the counter register and demanded employees fill it with cash, sheriff's authorities said.
But the robber, who wore clothing that concealed what he looked like, became frustrated and fired off a round to the ceiling before taking the bag and fleeing the store on South San Jacinto Avenue, authorities said. The suspect was seen entering the front passenger seat of a maroon or gold sedan.
