Sheriff's Helicopter Called in for Beaumont Suspect Search

The sheriff's department called upon aerial support Thursday afternoon as authorities sought a man who ran during a traffic stop, officials tell Patch.

A man who ran from sheriff's deputies during a traffic stop in Beaumont Thursday remains at large following a search by land and air, officials say.

According to Riverside County Sheriff's Corporal Angel Ramos, a man ran from a deputy when he attempted a traffic stop in the area of 6th Street and Magnolia around  3 p.m.

The car pulled over and the driver remained, but the passenger got out and ran, according to Ramos.
