Search Warrant Served at Residence on Cherry Valley Blvd Thursday Morning

Investigators from the Cabazon Station were at the residence Thursday morning, sheriff's Lt. Ruben Navarro said.

Updated 2:42 p.m. The search Thursday morning on Cherry Valley Boulevard was for a marijuana grow reported at a residence, Sgt. Alan Meservey of the sheriff's Cabazon Station said.

"We did locate a small grow which consisted of approx. 24 plants," Meservey said. "The residents showed proof that they were dependent on the marijuana for medical purposes, and were permitted by law to have such plants. No one was arrested."

The search coincided with a time when many residents and students were driving to nearby schools, so there were a number of onlookers, Meservey said.

"We were told school started at a different time," Meservey said. "There was a little commotion with the onlookers."

Why would the Department NOT check if they were permitted to have plants prior to INVADING their property, assuming wrong doing. What is this? I am sure there will be no apology, when will the system stop harrassing and ruining peoples lives and reputations instead of doing their job, to serve and protect, this serves no one except the wallets of those in charge...Gheez

I am by far more afraid of the powers that be than the "immoral" behavior of private citizens. It seems everyone uses the excuse of, "If your not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about." Unfortunately those days are over. The ability of government to enact all measures on citizens without cause, and force all citizen to prove their innocents is contrary to our rule of law. Every American really should be more concerned than what I see. The American apathy to our erosion of individual liberty is mind boggling!! So afraid of terrorist or the boogie man that they will continue to allow amazing amounts of intrusion. "Those who chose safety over liberty, deserve neither!! I want those who fought and died for our "freedoms" to be proud and they are not! This is growing at an alarming rate which is why they overwhelmingly support Ron Paul as the next POTUS. So do I. Yeah keep worrying about pot while thousands die every year from Tylenol. Screwed up priorities!!

Right On Diego! I have been watching the totalitarian police State evolve for many years...Ron Paul is our only hope, last chance. Change WILL come whether you want it or not, I would rather have liberty and a choice. So much apathy and blind acceptance these days, it's hard to believe so many are not researching what will affect them and generations to come...believing the Media is not safe or responsible. Follow the money trail, & watch for voter fraud (rampant). Research Ron Paul. Vote for Ron Paul
