A man who shoplifted items from a San Jacinto Walmart Saturday, then threatened a security guard who tried to stop him leaving the store, was at large.
The burglary was reported at Walmart in the 1800 block of South San Jacinto Avenue at 1:50 p.m., Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Rose McKinney wrote in a news release.
It was unclear what the items taken were worth.
The suspect brandished a metal object he pulled from a backpack when confronted by the security guard, the sergeant wrote.
It was not clear whether the object was a gun.
He ran off, prompting a search of the area, which proved unsucessful.
Other than the color of his clothing and of his skin, there was no suspect description available.
