A 30-year-old man has been named as a suspect in a recent deadly San Jacinto shooting, sheriff's officials say.

Joseph Ramirez of San Jacinto was taken into custody by the Hemet Police Department "...pursuant to a vehicle code violation and drug possession charges" on Feb. 23,  according to Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. James Erickson.

Once in custody, investigators apparently linked the man to the Feb. 23 shooting of an 18-year-old San Jacinto man.

"Further investigation by the San Jacinto Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Central Homicide Unit determined Ramirez was responsible for the earlier shooting death of Jario Sebastion-Flores, 18 years old from San Jacinto," Erickson said.

"The appropriate charges have been added, Ramirez is in custody of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department," he added.
