Sheriff's investigators were on the hunt Thursday for three suspects who rushed into a home when a resident answered a knock on the door Halloween afternoon.
The robbery in the 500 block of Vernon Avenue was reported at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, according to Riverside County sheriff's officials.
A man, woman and 9-year-old girl were in the home getting ready for Halloween when they heard a knock and the woman opened the door, Riverside County Sheriff's Sergeant W. Clear reported in a news release.
Three men rushed in, one of them holding a gun, Clear said.
"The suspects threatened the male victim as they ransacked the residence and demanded money," Clear said. "The suspects collected several items and fled the residence north on Vernon Avenue."
The man suffered a minor injury during the robbery, but the woman and child were not injured, the sergeant said.
The three suspects are described as Latinos in their late teens or early twenties. All three wore dark clothing, including sweatshirts with the hoods raised over their heads and partially covering their faces, officials said.
