Remains of Men Found in San Jacinto Home Identified

The men were found dead Nov. 9 at a home in the 700 block of Multnomah Court.

Two men found dead in a San Jacinto home were identified this week as San Jacinto residents but it was unclear whether they lived at the home.

The remains of Rodolfo Robles Vargas, 26, and Hector Gonzalez, 35, were found Nov. 9 in the 700 block of Multnomah Court, authorities said.

An autopsy conducted on both men have prompted sheriff's homicide investigators to rule the case a homicide, a sergeant stated in a news release.

The cause of death has been withheld from the public.

Jeremiah here is how it works, you replied to Victor someone or Victor himself removed the response which in turn deleted yours. It will become a way for people to say things and then delete everyone's response before anyone reads. It will become a way where trolls can come through and find your content "offensive" and flag it to be removed and then all responses to that content will go too. Here is the thing, if I find something "offensive" I MOVE ON and don't continue to read it. I think the patch would have done itself and users a better service by allowing the ability to block the users they find offensive. But Renee it is censorship and the patch is allowing it

The comments were deleted from my own post. It was from "New Look Not Working for Me" on…Read More "Speak Out". Victor Dominguez' comment was deleted as was my answer to him. Several people have since put comments up also noticing the deletion. I did not mean to say you did it - I only appealed to you as editor to see that this stops if it matters that I stay with the paper. Allowing people to delete comments they don't like on "their" post completely takes away anyone's right to have and voice a different opinion. It turns it from a discussion to a "Facebook-like" monologue and diatribe. People should be able to only remove or edit their own replies and comments - not those of other people they don't agree with. Even though Victor was rude to me I would NEVER think of deleting his response to me. He has the right to post his opinion and debate it with me. The first comment I made here on something Libi posted was removed also. Are people going to be allowed to spout anything they wish on here with the ability to remove all opposing views? That is the definition of censorship and it completely destroys any possibility of open discussion. I have absolutely no use for a forum run like that - and I doubt most of your other prolific writers here do either.

@Jeremiah-- I have not deleted a single comment here on Patch since we've made the switch to the new…Read More system (except for one duplicate post a user asked me to remove on their behalf). However, other users can flag comments and remove them from postings they've made, since it's "their content." The idea here is to let people voice their opinions... and if they are censoring the replies they get; that's not up to me. What posting was this on that your comments were removed?

There will indeed be a cost for these inspections (look at the last sentence of the agenda item). If there was a history of ongoing issues related to the quality of rental units, that might be another story, but nowhere in the agenda item is that claim made. So they are in effect creating a solution to a non-existent problem, and billing for that solution. What, the city isn't making enough money off of Mello Roos?

However, one wonders if there is a cost for these inspections, who will cover it, and if those in City government will be favored with the self-inspect clause for rental property they own. It always happens.

And now it's back!?!? Wow, this "great new format" is really impressive, eh? And of…Read More course the one thing that many have wanted, many have asked for, the one thing that would have been easy to add; the ability for a person to edit their post, is still nowhere to be found. We must delete the entire post and rewrite it if we make a typo. Yeah, that's logical. Patch Powers that be: Please listen to your readership. Bring back the ability to comment on specific comments (not just at the end), bring back the "latest comments" section on the front page (so readers can see what's hot/active at a glance), and for crying out loud, add the ability to edit our posts (it's not really rocket science here, people). Those three things would likely eliminate 90% of the complaints about this new format. Of course, I'm not about to hold my breath. I don't think they really care, nor really listen.

Seems the "censorship" is a bit more zealous with this new format, eh? Oh well, I predict a major decrease in the local voices that made the Patch one of the "go to" sites for local information, commentary, and debate. Sad, really, as I learned a significant amount of info about my community here in the past. No more, obviously.

Renee - I agree 100% with Lloyd on this and you will find all the posters who used to make the Patch…Read More an interesting read are going elsewhere. I know you are stuck with what they give you, but you need to stop defending this change and address it's failure. Holding our comments does no good - giving them to the people you deal with AFTER the site becomes set in stone will not work. Even the news stories don't rotate fast enough - the same things are on the page that were there after the changeover. I won't be using the new features - they are not nearly as user-friendly as you try to portray and new responses to blogs and new comments are hidden. If they even show up - many of my comments on this new format have posted and then disappeared. Not a good move and it has hurt your paper. Jeremiah

They tested this model on the east coast, and most of the sites do have our "2.0" format now. However, they do encourage us to forward on user feedback about features you guys like— and don't like. I am saving all these comments to pass on to our teams. I appreciate your thoughts and I hope you will come to take advantage of some of the new features (as you already have with this board posting.) Patch is all about getting the community involved, and that's why there are now more ways for people to post, and why the blogs are now in the main column.

Pretty sure she has started using the Facebook comments program, which by itself will keep me from posting. If the old one doesn't come back I will most likely be saying sayonara. I pretty much like everything else, but this was the real draw of the Patch and it's strong point - especially during the fire. Advertisement pane is about 10% too large as well and should be on the other side of the page to look right. Renee is trying though, which is appreciated. I just hope she listens about the comments section. Jeremiah
