A car crashed into a utility pole and toppled power lines in San Jacinto, briefly blacking out more than 1,300 accounts, a Southern California Edison spokeswoman said today.
Firefighters were dispatched at 4:50 p.m. Saturday to North Sanderson Avenue and West Ramona Expressway, where the crash had left a man trapped inside the vehicle. He was later freed and sent to a hospital with major injuries, Cal Fire reported.
The crash also left 1,323 homes and businesses without power for 30 seconds to a minute, SCE spokeswoman Susan Cox said. Sixty-three ratepayers went without electricity for more than an hour as SCE work crews repaired the downed power lines, she said.
Power was fully restored to the affected SCE customers by 6:38 p.m., Cox said. The medical condition of the injured person was not disclosed.-City News Service
