Police: Suspect Sought in Walmart Stabbing

Police were searching Saturday for a man suspected of stabbing another outside the Beaumont Walmart, officials tell Patch.

According to Beaumont Police Commander Sean Thuilliez, the police department was called out to the store around 10:30 p.m. Friday, after getting a call of four males fighting.  Two were injured.

"One victim had suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and was immediately transported to a local area hospital," he said in an emailed statement Saturday.  "The second victim suffered minor injuries and was released at the scene."

The other two men fled after the attack, and police started searching the area.

"Beaumont officers searched the area with the assistance of a Riverside County Sheriff K-9 and helicopter," Thuilliez said.

They eventually found one of the men, but he was released.

"One suspect was later detained but was released without charges," the commander said.  "A second suspect is currently being sought in connection with this incident."

Police said they are working leads in the case, and asked that anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact the on-duty Watch Commander of the Beaumont Police Department at (951) 769-8500.
