Police Seek Two in Connection to Yucaipa, Calimesa Vehicle Burglaries

Have you seen these two? 34-year-old Shawn Green and 27-year-old Sharilynn Castle, both of Yucaipa, are believed to be behind "a rash" of vehicle burglaries that began in early March, according to police.

Cabazon sheriff’s officials asked for the public’s help Thursday in tracking down two people wanted in connection to a series of car thefts in the Yucaipa and Calimesa areas.

Sheriff’s Sergeant Al Meservey says 34-year-old Shawn Green and 27-year-old Sharilynn Castle, both of Yucaipa, are believed to be behind “a rash” of vehicle burglaries that began in early March.

“These burglaries were from both locked and unlocked vehicles, where several vehicle windows were broken to gain entry,” Meservey said.  “Items stolen consisted of currency, wallets and purses, stereo equipment, banking and checking cards, and other miscellaneous items.”

At the end of March, someone began using stolen and forged checks that had been taken from the vehicles, cashing them at banks in the area.

Bank surveillance caught the suspect on camera—and Cabazon investigators have since identified Green as being present in the images, according to Meservey.

On Thursday, police searched Green’s home, and found “several” of the items taken in the thefts, Meservey said.

“At this stage of the investigation, which is still active and ongoing, Green has been linked to 8-10 of the vehicle burglaries in both cities,” he added.

Though police have now been able to ID their suspect and recover some items, Green is still on the loose because he was not home when the search warrant was served.

Authorities are now seeking Green, and his “associate” Sharilynn Castle, who has been named as a second suspect in the break-ins, Meservey said.

“Castle is also wanted in connection with these vehicle burglaries and also has a felony warrant issued for her arrest related to possession of dangerous drugs,” Sgt. Meservey said.

Police provided the following descriptions of the suspects:

  • Green is described as a white male, 5'-8" tall, 160 lbs, with short blonde hair and blue eyes.
  • Castle is described as a white female, 5'-7" tall, 155 lbs, with dyed black hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who may have information relating to this case was asked to contact Deputy Chris Ternes at the Cabazon Sheriff's Station at (951) 922-7100, or email CabazonStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
