Police Need Help Identifying Body Found in Colorado River

The man had some distinctive tattoos, including a grim reaper on the right side of his back, according to the sheriff's department.

Police Wednesday requested the public's help to identify a body found floating in the Colorado River, near Blythe.

The body of a Latino man, between 25 to 35 years old, was found by a boater in an unincorporated area near Blythe around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Thomas Velarde said.

The victim was 6-feet, 1-inch tall, 217 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

He had two distinctive tattoos:  one was of the grim reaper, on the right side of his back; and another one on this chest of a cross with a ribbon bearing the names Jayden, Jordon and Janice, wrapped around it, Velarde said.

The man had short hair, and not facial hair, according to Velarde.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call investigators at the sheriff's Colorado River Station at (760) 921-7900 or the Coroner's Bureau at (760) 863-8311.
