Police Nab Three Suspects Accused of Fleeing Daytime Burglary in Beaumont

Police responded to a report of suspicious activity about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 35000 block of Trevino Trail, in a subdivision in west Beaumont, according to a city spokeswoman.

Three men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of pulling a daytime burglary at a home in a west Beaumont subdivision and then fleeing from police, a city spokeswoman said.

Police responded to a report of suspicious activity about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 35000 block of Trevino Trail, between San Timoteo Canyon and Interstate 10, according to Darci Mulvihill, Beaumont's special projects manager.

A caller reported seeing a white Ford Mustang drop off two males, who went into the backyard of a home, Mulvihill said in a statement. About 2 p.m., a second caller reported two males came out of the same home with several pieces of property, got in a white Mustang, and left.

Police arrived and started searching, and one of the officers spotted a vehicle matching the description from both callers, Mulvihill said.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle near Desert Lawn Drive and Brutus Way, but the vehicle kept going, south on Desert Lawn and east on Oak Valley Parkway, Mulvihill said.

The vehicle turned right on Sunburst Drive, the driver lost control, and the vehicle went over the curb, Mulvihill said.

"Three subjects jumped out and fled, but were later apprehended by officers," Mulvihill said. "When officers searched the vehicle involved, they located property that had been stolen from a residence in the 35000 block of Trevino Trail."

The driver of the suspect vehicle was identified as Cameron Stone, 18, of, Perris, and the others were identified as Keronn Bell, 21, of Moreno Valley, and Leshawn Lewis, 23, of Riverside, Mulvihill said.

The three were arrested and booked at Smith Correctional in Banning on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony and obstructing justice, according to inmate records.

Stone was also booked on suspicion of evading a police officer, and Lewis was booked on a parole violation, Mulvihill said.

Stone, Bell and Lewis remained locked up Thursday in Banning, according to inmate records. Stone's bail was $100,000, Bell's was $25,000, and Lewis was held without bail. They each have court appearances scheduled Friday in Banning.
