Police: Man Slashed Across Face in Perris Knife Attack

A man was slashed across his face during a knife attack in Perris and police were searching for a suspect who fled the area, a sheriff's deputy said Saturday.

Deputies were dispatched at 9:23 p.m. Friday to a residential area in the 200 block of Caldera Street where they located a man who had suffered cuts to his face and elsewhere to his body, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Armando Munoz said.

The suspect, described only as a Latino, fled the area and evaded capture. Evidence had been collected from the crime scene but it was unclear whether that included the weapon, Munoz said.
