Person Stabbed at Beaumont Walmart, Hospitalized

At least one person was hospitalized in the attack. At this point, it's believed that two suspects are sought, though police could not immediately confirm that.

An argument at the local Walmart turned physically violent Friday night, when a man was reportedly stabbed outside the store.

Witnesses on scene tell Banning-Beaumont Patch that the ordeal started around 10:30 p.m., when a group of young men— believed to range in age from teenagers to young adults-— were spotted outside the store arguing.

"They argued out here a minute, and then it turned physical," one witness who wished to remain anonymous said at the scene.  "Then [the stabbing victim] ran inside for help."

According to multiple witnesses, four men were involved in the argument total, with two people pitted against two others. One person was taken away in an ambulance with stab wounds, believed to be in the stomach, they said.  Another person refused transport.

The witness told Patch that they saw a knife used in the attack, which he described as small, "... about the size of the palm of my hand."

After the attack, two of the men apparently fled, according to witnesses.

A police helicopter was seen above the southwest portion of town at midnight, with a search light on.

Beaumont Police did not immediately return calls or emails for comment on the case.  Patch will update this breaking news story as more details become available.
