Person Hit, Killed While Walking in Hemet

The person died after being hit by a vehicle in the Hemet area early Wednesday morning.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the Hemet area today, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal injury occurred about 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of West Florida Avenue and Winchester Road, a CHP Officer said.

Authorities did not immediately release the victim's name, gender and age.

The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
