PASS ELECTIONS: Bono Mack vs Ruiz Debate in 36th Congressional District
The one-hour debate was billed as the only one between the two candidates seeking to represent the San Gorgonio Pass in Congress. It took place Friday night in Palm Desert.
Incumbent Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs, and physician Raul Ruiz, D-Coachella,who want to represent the San Gorgonio Pass and the rest of the new 36th Congressional District, squared off Friday night in a debate in Palm Desert.
The one-hour debate was billed as the only one between the two candidates before voters go to the polls on Nov. 6.

Organizers of the debate were KMIR6, the NBC affiliate for the Coachella Valley, and the Desert Sun.
The 36th Congressional District includes Whitewater, Cabazon, Banning, Beaumont, Cherry Valley and Calimesa. A pdf copy of the new district is attached to this report.
