One person was killed and three people were injured in a sport utility vehicle crash Saturday night on the westbound 60 Freeway west of the Badlands, about 10 miles west of Beaumont, according to Cal Fire.

The crash was reported at 10:22 p.m. Saturday on the westbound 60 Freeway west of Theodore Street in east Moreno Valley, Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire-Riverside County said.

Three engine crews and three ambulance crews responded, Hagemann said.

"Firefighters are on scene of a solo-vehicle traffic collision involving a solo SUV," Hagemann said in a statement. "Upon arrival the first on-scene engine company reported the SUV on its roof with one person trapped.

"The incident resulted in one confirmed fatality and three patients with major injuries," Hagemann said. "The injured were transported to area hospitals."
