One person was hospitalized in a three car crash near Beaumont High School on Wednesday afternoon, but he was expected to be alright, CHP reported.
The unidentified man was struck around 1 p.m. while driving his Scion on Cherry Valley Blvd, just east of Nancy Ave, according to California Highway Patrol Spokesman Officer Darren Meyer.
The man, who was headed west on Cherry Valley, was hit by a white van that was traveling in the opposite direction, who, "for unknown reasons crossed lanes into westbound traffic," Meyer told Patch.
Trying to avoid getting hit by the van, the Scion's driver in turn crossed into the eastbound lanes, hitting a third car; a green Honda, Meyer said.
He was taken to the hospital with what were described as minor injuries. The other drivers were not injured, according to the officer.
The road was temporarily closed while the scene was cleared. Emergency vehicles were gone by 2:30 p.m.
All three drivers were Beaumont residents, but additional details weren't immediately available.
