A motorist was injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway that sent one car careening into a ditch.

The collision happened around 5 a.m. on the westbound 60, near the Gilman Springs Road turnoff, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Crews arrived to find one vehicle disabled along the freeway center divider, while the other car was at the bottom of a 20-foot embankment, a fire department spokeswoman said.

She said occupants of both vehicles were able to climb out of the wreckage.
