One Killed, Three Others Hospitalized in Fiery Desert Crash

One person died and three others were seriously injured in a fiery head-on collision in Desert Hot Springs Thursday.

The two-vehicle crash was reported about 5:15 a.m. at Palm Drive and Camino Campanero. 

One vehicle caught fire, and firefighters quickly doused it, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

One victim died at the scene and the other three were transported to a hospital by ambulance, she said. The cause was under investigation.
