One Fatally Injured in San Jacinto Crash

One person was fatally injured in a crash in San Jacinto early Tuesday, according to Cal Fire-Riverside County.

The crash was reported at 1:38 a.m. Aug. 6 near North Sanderson Avenue and Cottonwood Avenue, south of Sanderson's junction with Ramona Expressway, Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire said in a statement.

Firefighters responded and found one person trapped, Hendrickson said. A Mercy Air helicopter crew was called out and the patient was extricated at 2:46 a.m., but perished at the scene.

 The Sheriff's Department also responded. The deceased individual was not identified.
