Off-Duty Firefighter from Yucaipa, Calimesa Man Arrested in Beating

An off-duty firefighter from Yucaipa and a Calimesa man were arrested early Monday on suspicion of beating another man in downtown Redlands, police said.

Redlands Police dispatch received a call of an ongoing assault about 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Orange Street, Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker said in a statement.

The victim, a 23-year-old Moreno Valley man, was treated at the scene and released after refusing further treatment, Baker said.

Police eventually located the two suspects, identified as Joshua Peter Egan, 32, of Yucaipa, and Bradley Robert Memory, 31, of Calimesa, according to Baker.

Egan, the off-duty firefighter, turned himself in to police Monday afternoon, Baker said. He was placed on administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation.

Memory turned himself into police Tuesday. Both men were arrested on charges of assault, according to Baker.
