MUGSHOT: Second Woman Arrested in Connection to Beaumont Murder

Tanita Marie Baker is charged with being an "accessory to murder" in the death of Elizabeth "Coti" Asselin.

Beaumont police released this week the booking photo of a second suspect charged in connection with the death of a 44-year-old local woman.

Tanita Marie Baker was arrested March 6, but her photo was made public Thursday.  The Riverside County District Attorney's Office has charged Baker with a felony count of accessory to murder, according to a criminal complaint.

Baker, along with murder suspect Vanessa Fierro, was arrested in Simi Valley after police tracked the two down thanks to several leads, officials said.

She's accused of helping Fierro get out of town following her alleged involvement in the death of Elizabeth "Coti" Asselin.

The criminal complaint in the murder case alleges "...Baker... did willfully and unlawfully, having knowledge of the crime of homicide... did harbor, conceal and aid said Vanessa Kathleen Fierro with the intent that she might avoid and escape from arrest, trial, conviction and punishment from said felony."
