A Beaumont police officer was in the area checking reports of a fight when he observed a male suspect shooting Albarran, Mulvihill said.

The officer ordered the suspect to drop the weapon and the suspect refused, Mulvihill said. Believing the suspect was going to continue shooting, the officer shot the suspect, Mulvihill said.
