McDonald's Drive Thru Crash Results in DUI Arrest

Driver couldn't make it through the McDonald's drive thru without hitting the car in front of her.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving when her car rear ended another vehicle while at the drive thru of a McDonald's restaurant in Coachella today, a police sergeant said.

Neither vehicle sustained any damage, however the driver of a Nissan Versa complained of pain to her neck area, said Coachella police Sgt. John Clark.

Ana Rodriguez, driving a Toyota Avalon, was in the drive thru of a McDonald's restaurant at Avenue 48 and Jackson when she rear-ended the Nissan about 2:40 a.m., Clark said.

Rodriguez suffered no injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/and or drugs. The Indio resident was taken to an area hospital as a precaution prior to be being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
