Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Calls Police

Edwin Fenty was arrested for the murder of his wife, who was found dead with stab wounds in the couple's home.

A man in Calimesa allegedly stabbed his wife to death and and then called police to turn himself in.

Edwin Fenty, 62, called dispatch at 1:12 a.m. on Monday, stating that he had just killed his wife, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. When deputies from the Calimesa and Yucaipa Police Department arrived, Fenty was outside in front of his house at 126 E. Avenue L. Police found Beverly Gaiter-Fenty dead in the hallway of the home.

Investigators from the sheriff's Central Homicide Unit and the Cabazon Sheriff's Station discovered that Gaiter-Fenty sustained several stab wounds, which led to her death, said Sgt. Jeff Buompensiero, of the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit. She was 58, according to the coroners report

Edwin Fenty is currently being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
