Man Found in Crashed Car with Gunshot Wound to the Head

The Banning Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose vehicle collided with a fence on South Florida Street.

UPDATE: As of Friday morning the Banning Police Department had no further information. "We are still investigating and following up on leads," said Sgt. Alex Diaz.

The Banning Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose vehicle collided with a fence on South Florida Street. 

Police officers got a report of a collision at about 10:55 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South Florida and Plaza Streets and upon arrival saw that a vehicle had collided with a chain link fence, according to a statement by the Banning Police Department.

An unresponsive male was found in the vehicle and was pronounced dead after medics arrived. Investigators later determined the man had been shot in the head.

The victim's name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. The case is still under investigation.
