An injured hiker was hoisted to saftey out of the San Jacinto mountains Thursday afternoon, but she was expected to be alright, fire officials said.
The unidentified woman was hiking near the 8,900 ft. elevation level on Marion Ridge, near Idylwilld-Pine Cove, when she somehow hurt her back, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
She called for help around 8:30 a.m., and two fire engines and 30 firefighters were called in to help, fire records indicated.
A California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection helicopter hoisted the woman out of the area at around 1 p.m., Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson added.
Though the woman did need to be hoisted out of there, her injuries were only describe as minor.
