House Fire in San Jacinto Stays in Chimney

It took 17 firefighters about 15 minutes to contain the blaze.

A non-injury fire in San Jacinto Saturday was quickly contained by nearly a score of firefighters, an official reported.

The blaze was reported at 4:15 p.m., in the 900 East block of Commonwealth Avenue, according to Melody Hendrickson, with Cal Fire/Riverside County fire.

Arriving firefighters saw smoke coming from the two-story, single-family home, Hendrickson reported.

The fire was contained to the chimney, she added.
