The closure is being done to allow crews to clear a big rig from the roadway that crashed around 6:15 a.m. into a tree along the shoulder, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Initial reports indicated that the driver of the truck may have been pinned under the vehicle, but a CHP dispatcher tells Patch the person escaped serious injury.

Logs indicate the towing company requested a full westbound closure to help clear the wreckage.  CHP says a closure could last until around 9 a.m.
