Firefighters Respond to Wreck on Eastbound Interstate 10 in Cabazon

Firefighters, an ambulance crew, and the California Highway Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash on eastbound I-10 east of Main Street in Cabazon. A backboard extrication was under way just before 12:30 p.m.

A two-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Main Street in Cabazon slowed freeway traffic to a standstill Sunday afternoon as rain moved out of the San Gorgonio Pass area.

The crash occurred on the eastbound 10 and left two damaged vehicles in the center divider east of Main Street just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters, an ambulance crew, and the California Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. A backboard extrication was under way just before 12:30 p.m.

Information about possible injuries was not immediately available.

It was not clear whether rains Sunday morning and resulting slick road surfaces contributed to the crash. Many roads, including I-10, dried out quickly as storm cells moved out of the area.
