Firefighters Free Two Trapped in Highway 62 Crash

Firefighters freed a woman and a boy who were trapped in a crash Wednesday on Highway 62 near Dillon Road, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The solo vehicle crash was reported at 11:06 a.m. Oct. 30 just north of the junction with Interstate 10, north of Palm Springs, Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

Both patients, one adult female and a male child, were to be transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries, Hendrickson said in an update at 11:40 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol temporarily closed the northbound 62 during the rescue, Hendrickson said.
